GST Calculator — Free Online Tool
Goods and Services Tax touches almost every bill in India, and this GST calculator makes the two calculations that traders, freelancers and shoppers need most. Choose Add GST when you know the price before tax and want the final amount; choose Remove GST when you have a GST-inclusive price and want to split it into the net value and tax portion. Tap one of the preset buttons for 5%, 12%, 18% or 28%, or type any other rate such as 0.25% or 3% in the rate box. The result lists the net amount, the GST amount and the total so it is easy to copy into an invoice or a purchase record. The formulas are GST = net × rate ÷ 100 when adding, and net = inclusive amount × 100 ÷ (100 + rate) when removing. Because the GST Council revises rates and the classification of goods and services from time to time, always confirm the rate that applies to your item on the official GST portal or with your accountant. For an intra-state sale, divide the total GST equally into CGST and SGST; for an inter-state sale, the full amount is IGST. The calculator works instantly in your browser and stores nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add GST to a price?
Select Add GST, enter the amount before tax and choose the rate. GST is the amount multiplied by the rate divided by 100, and the total is the amount plus GST. At 18%, ₹1,000 becomes ₹1,180.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Select Remove GST, enter the final price and the rate. The tool divides by (1 + rate/100) to find the base price. A ₹1,180 inclusive price at 18% has a net amount of ₹1,000 and GST of ₹180.
What are the GST slabs available in the calculator?
The quick buttons offer 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, and you can type any custom rate. Rates and the items under each slab change over time, so verify the current rate for your product or service on the official GST portal.
How do I split GST into CGST and SGST?
For sales within the same state, half of the GST goes to the Centre as CGST and half to the state as SGST. For 18% GST, that is 9% CGST and 9% SGST. Sales between states attract IGST at the full rate.
Can I use this GST calculator for an invoice?
Yes, it gives you the net, tax and total figures to enter. For a complete tax invoice you also need details such as GSTIN and HSN or SAC codes, which you can add in the Invoice Generator notes.
